Welcome to the Governors section of our school website. Here you can find out more information about the school’s Governing Body and the work that we do.

Hatfeild Primary School is governed by The Governing Body of the Cherrywood Federation. The Cherrywood Federation is a formal partnership between Hatfeild Primary School and Joseph Hood Primary School. Our two schools share a single governing body that ensures accountability and strategic decision-making across the federation.

The board has three core responsibilities:

• Setting the vision, ethos and strategic direction for the Federation

• Holding school leaders to account for the educational attainment of pupils

• Overseeing financial resources and ensuring they are spent effectively

As a Governing Body, we work in partnership with Mrs Saville and the staff at both schools to support them in making our schools the best they can be.

The Governors are all volunteers drawn from the staff, parents and the wider community. We come from a range of backgrounds and professions, but we all have one thing in common – we are passionate about our federation and are very proud of the hard work and achievements of our students and our staff.

As a whole Governing Body we meet once a half-term, so our main work is carried out within committees: Finance & Premises and Pay & Personnel.
